Apropos En Passant

'with regards to the act of passing'
clinton campaign

Yet another shakeup in the Clinton campaign:

Mark Penn, the pollster who has advised Bill and Hillary Clinton since 1996, stepped down under pressure on Sunday as the chief political strategist for Mrs. Clinton’s struggling presidential campaign after his private business arrangements again clashed with her campaign positions.

What is most disturbing this time is not that the campaign is in disarray yet again.  We're way past being shocked by the blundering in Hillary's campaign.  What is unnerving is why Penn had to leave: a conflict of interest with his private business arrangements.  The Clintons are already under a heavy cloud of suspicion regarding intermixing politics and private business, particularly in regards to the undisclosed donor list to the Clinton Foundation and Presidential Library.  The fact that Clinton had to have known about Penn's business dealings, and allowed him to function at the top of her campaign, indicates that the Clintons are entirely comfortable with these dangerous liaisons, only acting when a media furor forces their hand.

Even more damning to her Presidential pretensions, however, is the irony is Penn was the architect of the disastrous strategy of emphasizing experience in a year of change.  If she had the wisdom of experience to dump Penn months ago, her campaign would have had a chance to craft a sellable message.

I ask this, again: if Clinton can't handle her own campaign, how can se be trusted to run the country?

I've posted previously on the irony that Clinton wants to run the country but can't run a campaign.  Is this how she will pay for Hillarycare?

Among the debts reported this month by Hillary Rodham Clinton’s struggling presidential campaign, the $292,000 in unpaid health insurance premiums for her campaign staff stands out.

Clinton, who is being pressured to end her campaign against Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination, has made her plan for universal health care a centerpiece of her agenda.

Ignoring the obvious implication that her campaign is financially inept, how is it that her campaign is stupid enough to let something like this happen, politically?  Here's another free piece of political advice: if you are going to make healthcare the centerpiece of your campaign, it is obvious the opposition will question how it is to be financed.

Ergo make sure you pay your campaign healthcare bills.
